La 3e saison de 5tracks podcast a commencé fort : dès le 20 janvier, un 1er opus de Patrick Villa & Jay Castelli résolument rythmé, ‘A techno session’ préparée par 2 nouveaux artistes chez UZIC : le producteur de son Patrick Villa et le DJ catalan Jay Castelli.

Puisque 5tracks est un podcast collaboratif qui met en vitrine les musiques électroniques indépendantes, on en remet une couche avec ‘A-side’, un épisode ‘à-part’ puisqu’il nous donne à écouter le fruit d’une collaboration récente entre Chris Kraus, producteur et DJ de Cologne sous influences ‘House’ (deep/tech-house comme on les aime, underground et rythmée) et DeepSpud a.k.a. SickSpud, artiste techno présent historiquement sur UZIC radio.

5tracks #007 – Pure Techno by SickSpud – hommage au mUZIC.radio festival !

Le moins qu’on puisse dire, c’est que SickSpud a plus d’une corde à son arc. Actif comme l’un des programmateurs de UZIC radio, il est DJ bien sûr, mais aussi producteur de sons. Avec ’s’ à sons, le pluriel est de mise puisqu’à côté de la musique électronique (techno, tech-house, deep house, minimal...) il s’occupe aussi d’habillage sonore pour les podcasts de l’association Odiolab. Et le voilà que devient maître de classe lorsqu’il donne un atelier DJ4Kids aux enfants !

Revenons à la musique, parce qu’il y a matière. Pour sortir du studio - qui lui sert aussi de caverne - 5tracks s’avère utile. Créé en 2021, ce podcast musical lui permet de faire découvrir ses derniers titres au public, d’initier des ventes en ligne (le tracklisting mis à disposition dans les notes d'épisode ci-après mentionne des titres disponibles en ligne) et de collaborer avec d’autres artistes producteurs.

Pour ce nouvel épisode, il y a un coup en plus à jouer : c’est le dernier week-end du mUZIC.radio festival et SickSpud y jouera un set techno ce vendredi 12 septembre 2025 de 18:00 à 20:00. O&R stands for “Originals & Remixes”, a bunch of tracks produced by Swiss electronic creators put together with remixes of international artists, or songs of SickSpud himself. Caution: this 30 min. podcast sounds like a dj-set starting with some dark techno and ending up with much heavier basses! Check out the tracklist below:

ANTIPASS by SickSpud (06:25 - 11:34) It reminds us the groove of a minimal track. Yeapah, head-shaking has just started!

5tracks SUPERTRACKS – Revenge! by SickSpud (live)

On Friday 11th June 2021, Swiss dj & music producer @SickSpud was on air over Facebook. That was the first opportunity to showcase one of our 5tracks SUPERTRACKS session: a mix of the five best tracks which have been produced for 5tracks podcast yet.

What a Revenge! At the time of the live-act, SickSpud had to deal with various and repeated technical issues. But he did! Here the track listing:

STRANGE (00:45 - 07:45) Light & pumping at the same time, what a refreshing minimal track! not fully convinced by the voices hearable in the break time though

MOUNETTE TWO (07:45 - 15:55) Progressive influences and a bright dark melody are well placed on this great track. Just close your eyes and dance! GALACTIC VIRUS (15:55 - 21:25) Be patient: to us, this track really starts at 1.30 with its motivating rhythm!

TURKISH ZARBI (21:25 - 24:30) If you like acid (sounds), this progressive track is dedicated to you.

AIE AIE AIE (24:30 - 27:25) A shaking techno-progressive: it actually sounds like the most elaborate track of the whole show!
